Coverage and Uses
Eurekah is a comprehensive compendium of biomedicine and bioscience chapters from current books published by Landes Bioscience. The site includes chapters from books already in print and chapters from books before print publication.
Unique features of the site make it particularly useful to scholars, students, the science media and industry.
- The total Landes Bioscience book content has been broken into searchable subject categories.
- Chapters will be updated. The versions will appear at Eurekah.
- Users will have the choice of selecting from multiple versions and
formats:
- conventional research and reference
- creation of custom books for teaching
- selection of individual chapters in PDF for corporate marketing
Background and Scope
Landes Bioscience has published more than 700 bioscience and biomedicine books. New books are published monthly.
They are grouped into five Intelligence Unit series:
- Medical Intelligence Unit
- Molecular Biology Intelligence Unit
- Neuroscience Intelligence Unit
- Biotechnology Intelligence Unit
- Tissue Engineering Intelligence Unit
Chapters of many Landes Bioscience Intelligence Unit books already in print are posted at Eurekah. Chapters of forthcoming Intelligence Unit books are posted as they are approved for publication by the Editor of each book...even before the book is in print.
Chapters cover major topics in bioscience and biomedicine. They may be updated as new information accumulates so Eurekah will always be a resource for current information.
Abstracts of the chapters as well as the complete text... and all figures and tables...will appear at the Eurekah website. In all, this growing database will have several thousand chapters written by academic physicians and bioscientists throughout the world.

Format and Delivery
The content of each chapter online is the same as in the book, only reformatted for web delivery. A PDF version corresponding to the first page of the print counterpart is also posted as a sample of a fully formatted chapter.
All Intelligence Unit books undergo an editorial review process. As each chapter is received and approved it is posted at Eurekah. And when the final chapter of a book is approved, the book is printed. In this way, chapters are available at Eurekah before they appear in print. Each chapter will have a publication date corresponding to the first time it was published, whether via posting to the Eurekah web site or in print. The chapters are considered "published" when they have passed editorial review and are posted at Eurekah. At that time their URLs can be referenced.
Subscription and Licensing
The Eurekah database is available for subscription and licensing.
Subscription
Subscribers and licensed users can access the Eurekah database:
- read chapters online
- print the unformatted chapters from html
- purchase a license to print fully formatted chapters from PDFs
- create custom books for courses, laboratories, meetings and marketing by selecting and combining chapters from the database to make a unique book.
Subscribers have access to the entire database regardless of the type of subscription they hold.

Site licenses are available. Rates depend upon the number of users at a site.
